School Day

 

School opens at 8:40 to ALL pupils .

 

Children in KS2 take themselves up to their classrooms, and children in EYFS and KS1 must wait for teachers to open their doors. It is very important that children are in school at this time as the doors are closed and locked when staff return inside.

 

Registration is taken at 9.05am. The children then begin their lessons. 

 

Morning break time is for 15 minutes, and is at varying times depending on your child's year group. 

 

 

Lunchtime is for 50 minutes for KS2, 55 minutes for KS1 and 60 minutes for EYFS. This means that we can accommodate all children in the dining hall.  Lunches run between 11.20am and 1.05pm. The youngest children eat first, and all children can enjoy their meal with friends at long tables.

 

Year 1 and 2 finish their lunch break at 12:35. They have an afternoon playtime at a time that fits in with the teacher’s lessons. 

 

Children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 finish their lunch break at 1:05pm. Children in Key Stage 2 do not have an afternoon break time.

 

 

At the end of the day, children in EYFS and KS1 are dismissed from their classrooms, and those in KS2 are dismissed from their class circles in the playground Year 5 and Year 6 from KS1 playground and year 3 and Year 4 from KS2 playground.

 

If your child is in EYFS or  Key Stage 1, please wait for the teacher to open the classroom door and then make yourself known. The teacher will then instruct your child to come to you.

 

In Key Stage 2, children are brought outside by a teacher and your child must tell the teacher when an adult is here to pick them up.

 

Reception and Nursery: finish at 3:10 pm
Year 1 and 2: finish at 3:10pm
Year 3 and 6: finish at 3:10pm
