It gives me a great pleasure on behalf of all the staff, children, parents and governors, to welcome you to our wonderful school.

At Plymouth Grove Primary School our core school values are respect, equality and friendship.

As a Gold UNICEF Rights Respecting School, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is embedded in everything we do. All adults are duty bearers, and work together to protect these rights. This ensures that all children have their rights respected, their voices heard and their contributions valued, and all have the best possible start in life.

We aim for all our pupils to be responsible, caring citizens and to be lifelong learners, developing resilience, reflectiveness, reciprocity and resourcefulness. Our approaches through Building Learning Power and being a Rights Respecting School underpin these aspects of our intent.

As a Manchester school we follow the Our Manchester agenda and want our pupils to contribute to:

  • A progressive and equitable city

  • A highly skilled city

  • A thriving and sustainable city

  • A liveable and low carbon city

  • A connected city

We know that it is essential that all pupils learn to speakread and write and the development of basic skills in English and Maths is our priority. Our strong partnership with parents and carers is key in supporting all pupils to develop a lifelong love of reading. Our focus on oracy enables deeper understanding of the curriculum and develops critical thinking.

Our school is  all about our wonderful pupils from age three to eleven. We are a happy and dedicated school family. Our staff make a huge commitment to develop a curriculum that is ambitious for all pupils. We enjoy learning together and sharing new experiences that are exciting and fun.

Plymouth Grove provides a special environment to learn together. It is a special and caring place to be and all members of the school are welcome and valued. We are proud of our inclusivity and our ability to cater to a wide range of pupil needs.

Our success could not be achieved without the full support of our families and we welcome the open communication we have with all our school community.
